( Istanbul – Bucharest )

DAY 1  Istanbul

Arrival and transfer to hotel. Free day at leisure.
DAY 2 : Istanbul (B)

Full day tour to include: Topkapi Palace , Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, St. Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. Optional: Dinner with belly dancing entertainment. 
 

DAY 3 : Gallipoli – Dardanelles – Canakkale  (B,D)

Morning departure for Gallipoli and visit Anzac Cove and Lone pine cemetery, then across the Dardanelles to Canakkale for overnight.

DAY 4 : Troy – Istanbul – Bucharest (B, D)

Morning visit of Troy with its famous wooden horse, then drive back to Istanbul and departure to Bucharest International Airport, meeting at the airport with English speaking guide, transfer to the hotel for check in.

DAY 5 Bucharest – Curtea de Arges – Vidraru (B, D)

Breakfast in the morning and departure, visit the Curtea de Arges Cathedral (a legend tells that Manole being unable to finish the walls was forced to sacrifice his own wife and bury into the foundations), we continue along the Transfagarasan road that climbs to 2,034 meters altitude, making it the 2nd highest mountain pass in Romania. Then we visit the Poenari Citadel, (it is a ruined castle in Romania, notable for its connection to Vlad III the Impaler) and Vidraru Dam; accommodation.

DAY 6 Vidrau – Balea Lake – Sibiu (B, D)

Breakfast, Vidraru lake boat tour, we go on visiting Bâlea Lake (glacier lake situated at 2,034 m of altitude in the Făgăraș Mountains, in central Romania, in Sibiu County). Arrival in Sibiu for a city tour, visit Town Hall Square, the Bridge of Lies, Brukenthal National Museum; accommodation in Sibiu.

DAY 7 Sibiu – Sighisoara (B, D)

Breakfast, visit of “ASTRA” Museum of Traditional Folk Civilization, the largest open air museum in Romania. Departure for Sighisoara, the place where Vlad the Impaler was born in 1431. We have a walk tour of Sighisoara, one of the few fortified towns which are still inhabited and listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, dinner at the restaurant “House of Vlad Dracul”, and accommodation.

DAY 8 Sighisoara – Brasov (B, D)

Breakfast, we continue through the heart of Transylvania over the Carpathian Mountains, arrival in Bran, visit of Bran Castle, worldwide known as “Dracula’s Castle”, free time for photo and local handicrafts and souvenirs shops; after that departure for Brasov, visit the medieval city center with its Black Church, St. Nicholas Church, First School, old city gates – important spiritual and cultural centre for the Romanian people in this region; traditional dinner with a show of Romanian dances in Brasov and accommodation.

DAY  9 Brasov – Sinaia – Bucharest (B, D)

Breakfast, we visit Rasnov castle, one of the best preserved Romanian fortress, then “Peles Castle”, world's first castle fully powered by locally produced electricity and former residence of the royal family of  Romania, built in the 19th century by Carol I; visit Sinaia Monastery, named after Mount Sinai, arrival in Bucharest and accommodation.

DAY  10 Bucharest - Istanbul (B)

Breakfast, free time and transfer to the airport according to the flight schedule.
